Not on viewDescriptionPainted as a pair to "Moorish Scene at Sunset" also by Eugenio Lucas, this landscape displays the progression of the multitude along their journey. The artist continues to exemplify the nineteenth-century fascination for Moorish subject matter, a common theme in the Romantic taste. Lucas again applies thick impasto but uses more chiaroscuro to create a stark contrast reminiscent of the work of his biggest influence: Goya.
