DescriptionRosado del Valle’s abstract work uses the figure as its point of departure, which the artist decomposes and analyzes with his decisive strokes. His expression in this period is situated somewhere between figuration and the analytical dismemberment of the form. Exceptional draftsmanship of tectonic quality supports the expressiveness of the gesture. Rich textures characterize Rosado del Valle’s painting. The whole pictorial surface becomes a field of intense action. This is one of the first works in which the artist used the resources of Abstract expressionism to explore purely formal aspects—line, color, and space.
