DescriptionThis work offers an example of how Puerto Rican artists of Orta Allende's generation explored themes related to their Taíno and African heritage. Five figures take part in the religious ceremony with which the Taínos honored their gods and ancestors. Brilliant colors, free, pasty brushstrokes, and scratches on the canvas reflect the artist's expressionist style.
