DescriptionThis large-format work presents a domestic space with no people but filled with objects that indicate human presence. It is part of a series of five works depicting various rooms of the house where the artist lived for a long time. The series invites viewers to “come on in” and discover her personal space. The orange bubbles that “contain” elements or aspects of daily life—like gardening tools and the caresses of a pet—appear almost magically in the scene. These bubbles are portraits in time, depicting events that are not happening in the present but in the past or the future. Although the work’s setting is the artist’s real life, the absence of characters and the representation of everyday elements in the scene create a space anyone can identify with.
