DescriptionIn this enigmatic composition, the artist presents an impenetrable and mysterious feminine space. Three women, herself with two friends, sit around a table, lashed by the strong winds of Hurricane Georges, which impacted Puerto Rico in 1998, when Dafne Elvira completed the painting. Like the Greek Fates, the women weave the threads of fate of tiny figures that float in a large wine vessel. As is characteristic of her production, the work conveys its own vocabulary of symbols, which are defined as follows: the threads "weave the stories, if they are loose, they are versions that are not yet completed"; the wheels "mobility and progress" and the tree "from which everything comes, life, the origin". The passage of time is marked by the hourglass, which forms the basis of everything
