DescriptionIn 1957, the artist created one of his first enigmatic in-shadow landscapes, which anticipate the night scenes that he would immortalize in works such as “Paroxismo” (1963) and “Niebla” (1965). Trees, a dark landscape that presents a tangle of branches, and an indefinite light (a crucial element in the artist’s oeuvre) illuminate only one of the bare trees that occupy most of the composition.
