Not on viewDescriptionSánchez Perrier belonged to a group of Sevillian painters who frequently traveled to Alcalá de Guadaira to paint its picturesque riverbanks. The river Guillena became a favorite place for painters, especially in the late 1880s. Sánchez Perrier's mostly monochrome painting differs from his other works where he applied a more liberal range of color. This, together with the fine details in sharp focus, suggests that the painter might have also used photographs of the river as aids while he painted, or intended to emulate the medium to an extent in his work.
