DescriptionMarina Arzola (1939-1976) belongs to the group of poets who became active in the 60s and published their verses in Guajana magazine. At the University of Puerto Rico, Rodón established a close friendship with Arzola, and her portrait already evidences the painter’s preference for painting figures from the world of letters and the arts, which culminates in the 70s with the monumental "Personages" series. Rodón used a black line to delineate the poet’s face, working in large areas of color. The gaze is sad and penetrating, like Arzola’s verses.
