DescriptionDuring the 60’s, Rodón worked with Penelope as a model to explore the genre of the nude. There are other versions, all very different, in which he combines the woman with a fighting cock. Here, he distorts and elongates the tail of the rooster, which appears to be gazing at the spectator, while the model looks down. He uses large areas of color and delineates shapes with a thick black line. The woman’s languor and flaccid breasts are reminiscent of Gauguin in Tahiti. We are captivated by the bright colors, such as the red and yellow of the background, which vibrate with extraordinary intensity.
